Bringing Out My Own Voice Instead of Chasing Virality

I want to stop posting for the algorithm, and start posting based on things I have to share with the world.

I have been posting on X since last couple of years consistently. I mean the posting schedule is consistent, not the topic.

When I got started with the platform, back then it was called Twitter, I was mostly posting tech updates. Until 2018, I continued the same and that account of mine had reached 10k followers.

Later, I noticed most of the engagement I was getting was from people outside India, people I don't know. Hence I decided to start posting in my regional language, and interacting with my regional people.

I deleted that 10k account and created a new one. Eventually I got the traction and I got around 2k followers within a few months. Then the COVID-19 hit in, and some of my posts really went viral.

Then there was a time, where the regional politics, group hate etc. became unbearable for me. It's because back then I was taking action based on my emotions, not based on logical thinking. I decided to stay back, I went MIA on the platform for a year or so.

When I returned, I noticed most of the people I knew of, have already left or not engaging much. So I decided to switch back to interacting with global audience.

I started interacting with tech audience, crypto bros, NFT bros (yes, I was invested in NFTs for a while). I have switched my niche 4-5 times in last couple of years, tried all the ways others are going viral. Tried copying other's strategies.

But it's enough now.

I have already spent a lot of effort on trying to be someone I am not. From now onwards, the ideas, the content I post, the things I say, would be based on my thought process, and not something that can go viral.
